To go from the bottom to the top to the point of disbelief
An incredible transformation

A journey and lifestyle towards improved mental, physical, and emotional wellness.
The term “glow up” was allegedly coined by the rapper Chief Keef in his song “Gotta Glo Up One Day”. Whether this is true or not I can’t tell but the term itself has grown into a phenomenon. People post their “glow ups” from ugly duckling to fit tummy tea selling Instagram models. Many admirers send their praises but rarely do these posts share stories of inspiration ,personal growth, or the true struggle to get to said “glow-up”. Most of these posts are for validation but this isn’t why I named this space The Glo Upp. Let me tell you why.
I sat in the driver’s seat of my black PT Cruiser with my hands on 7 and 5 (let’s be realistic), driving back to the hell hole I called university. I was listening to the latest episode of The Friend Zone Podcast, Glowed Up, with HeyFranHey, Dustin Ross, and Hey Assante. As I meandered through the interstate lanes, HeyFranHey said,
“If you glow up with the work that you need to feel good first, like FEELING good, then all that other shit is the perk because then you’re happy, you’re beautiful, you’re glowing...It’s just a better way to go about it. It’s a better way to create that life”.
I don’t know why that resonated with me but it did. Maybe it was God speaking to me or maybe it was the wake-up call that I needed for so long but it stuck. For the next year, I thought about what “glowing up” means to me. I thought about it on my way to New York City on a trip of a lifetime. I thought about it during Christmas with all my family and friends. I thought about it as I crossed across the graduation stage. Each time that I have thought about the concept of a “glow up”, it changed. Now, the term “glow up” is a lifestyle. It’s a lifestyle of helping and inspiring others, a lifestyle of continual growth, and a lifestyle of healthy living. I can say that I am not living The Glo Upp lifestyle right now, but I am working towards it. I’m somewhat eating healthier and working out more now than I have in the past year...really two years but that’s beside the point. I am waking up earlier I did in university. I’m getting more writing, filming, and creative work accomplished. Most importantly, I am making steps towards my life goals and the life that I want. I may not be in my full glow up mode right now, but at least I’m flickering.
With all the explanations out of the way, welcome to The Glo Upp.
P.S. The two p’s aren’t a typo. We type different around here.
